You guys, my life has been so boring lately! And by lately I mean since Monday. After all, I’m sure we can all agree that my weekend was pretty cool, no?
Here’s how things have been depressingly looking here in what I would like to call Hell…
Early wake up calls – yup I’ve continued my 5am pre-work running sessions. It’s been rough and continues to be, but I have the final goal (Rockin’ n’ Rollin‘ babay!) in mind and I won’t give in to sleepiness now!
Boring lunches – one of the major major major downfalls of traveling and living out of a hotel room is the lack of a kitchen. For a foodie (such an obnoxious term, sorry) like me, this is basically devastating. I miss bringing a scrumptious homemade lunch to work! For now I will have to continue taking full advantage of the cafeteria salad bar. Lucky for me, I like salad. At least I’m being healthy, right?
Even more boring dinners – my weekly dinners have basically been identical from week to week. I bring along a brown rice bowl, seaweed snacks, dried lentils, canned fish, and a sweet potato every week. It’s pretty boring but I secretly like it…for now…
Spending two glorious nights at an actual nice hotel – all the nice hotels here are booked out until October (not.even.kidding.in.the.slightest) and I’ve had to stay at a sub-par location. It’s livable, I promise, but once I saw this wonderful pillow sitting on the luxurious King bed, I knew it would stab my heart a little every week that I didn’t stay at that awesome hotel.
Junk food overload in the workplace – I finally understand the “unhealthiness” that is often associated with work. Candy, cookies, soda, and vending machines are everywhere! I am grateful that none of these things are tempting to me, but I can see how healthy eating habits can be derailed when someone spends 8+ hours surrounded by things like this massive 5lb bag of Tootsie Rolls:
I wish I was kidding. Also, please note the soda bottles in the background. #mypointexactly
Some final words of wisdom:
Don’t only develop your intuition, but trust it as well.
Do you find yourself tempted by the “goodies” that are available at your job?
Do you trust your intuition?
