Frames From The Weekend 6/22/2012 – 6/24/2012

Yet another weekend has come and gone *tear* Oh weekends how I love thee! I had quite an eventful few days – my bestie’s birthday was on Saturday and I ran a new-to-me distance on Sunday. A visit to the sauna and shopping may have also been involved.

(Friday night visit to King Spa & Sauna – I highly recommend this place because it’s absolutely incredible!)

(Saturday shopping day at Marshall’s. Voss water, anyone?)

(I currently have an addiction to buying running clothes! Under Armour blue tank + cheap black running skirt = my half marathon outfit! I also bought an adorable Mac carrying case for only $16!)

(HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL BESTIE!!! She turned 24 on Saturday and we took Buttery Nipple shots at midnight immediately after our sauna trip to celebrate. Her parents also got her a guitar for a gift)

(2 mile walk with mom on Saturday evening. There was some soccer event going on and we got some free swag – my favorite applesauce!)

(Clockwise from top left: pre-run fuel = sprouted cinnamon raisin bagel + sunflower seed butter and banana slices with a side of coffee; some Euro 2012 soccer watching while stretching and foam rolling pre-run; bubble machine spotted while running!; rockin’ the pink and black…new black skirt…for my run)

(Sunday’s running fuel of choice – Stinger energy chews which I loved and Stinger gel which my stomach hated)

(9 mile run completed!!! It was glorious. Even though my body didn’t want to, I forced myself to stop at almost every mile to stretch because my poor knees and shins were aching. Clearly, an ice bath was 100% necessary)

(Random foods eaten during the weekend: sprouted tortilla chicken + avocado wrap, chewy egg that was baked for 3 hours in a stone oven – bought at the King Sauna, sweet potato + coconut butter, green smoothie)

Can’t wait till next weekend!

Congrats on the 9 miles – that’s quite the accomplishment! Love the UA tank too. There are some great deals at Marshalls if you look closely!

PS that egg looks bizarrely great. It’s like the yolk and whites mixed together – sounds really intriguing! You try some of the coolest foods EVER.

Thanks! I’m still surprised that my body was able to survive (and enjoy it)!

And the egg is delicious. It’s essentially a hard boiled egg except it’s baked and very very chewy. I want to experiment and see if I can bake my own in the oven…

gels are the worst – they still make me queasy. I always prefer the chews. Or sometimes i just bring straight candy! 😀 Thats super weird that Marshall’s sells Voss water….

The stinger gels are the worst! I can tolerate Clif gels, although candy sounds like the best option as always 🙂
