Firmoo Glasses Review

I’ll never forget the day I realized I needed glasses. It was freshman year of high school and things started feeling…blurry. Of course, I was in denial for many months before I finally confessed my eye troubles to my parents. When the big day came I was excited…glasses no longer had the nerdiness factor for me and I was ready to include them as part of my daily ensemble.

Fast forward about four years to college. I snagged up a gorgeous pair of thick frames and immediately fell in love with how they pulled me together. Not only could I see the tiny lines of mathematical equations the professor wrote, but I looked fashionable as well. This was around the time stylish frames made their way towards the accessory category. Next thing I knew, girls showed up to night events with huge frames. At first I thought it was foolish but soon I found myself wearing my own glasses out to dinners and get-togethers.

When Firmoo contacted me for the opportunity to choose a pair of glasses to review, I was immediately drawn to the company. Not only do they offer a huge variety of both prescription glasses and sunglasses, but their service is prompt and easy to use.

After taking full advantage of their Virtual Try-On System (you upload your photo and can “try on” all the glasses to see how they would look on you!), I ended up choosing a pair of black/clear frames:

I received my glasses about one week after I placed the order.

I opted to leave out the prescription because I honestly didn’t know what mine was.

For now, these will remain as a fun accessory until I add in the prescription.

While my parents thought the frames were too big for my face, I liked the way they looked on me. My only concern was how frail the frames felt. I would definitely worry about their sturdiness if I actually had prescription lenses installed.

Thanks! I was nervous about the larger frames but I really ended up liking them.

I wish I looked that good in glasses, you look stunning

Aw thanks girl! I don’t wear glasses daily (although I should) but when I need to “see” I always reach for my glasses instead of my contacts. Contacts kill my eyes!

Nice glasses! I’ve been wearing the same frames for years and years, though truth be told I hardly ever actually wear my glasses. I got contacts in sixth grade and now wear glasses on an emergency-only basis…but maybe if I had cute glasses I’d wear them more often! Haha.

I’m the opposite! I got contacts but can’t seem to get my eyes fully adjusted to them. I always end up wearing contacts for a few weeks before giving up and sticking it out with my glasses. I’m jealous of all you people who have no problems with contacts!

I think those glasses suit you perfectly! But guess parents just don’t approve of the neird-glasses-trend 😉

Thanks! I think my parents secretly like me in glasses haha but who knows!

Wow, these glasses look so good on you! I really get what you mean by glasses “pulling you together” – though that’s not to say you didn’t look cute without them :).

Sigh, I wish I looked that good with glasses or that I wouldn’t need mine at all.

You just haven’t found the right glasses yet! Try out the website (you can upload your photo and “try” on glasses) or go to a special glasses store and try on every pair. That’s basically what I did before I found my perfect pair. And I’m sure you look great in any frames anyway…you’re just being too hard on yourself 🙂

Thanks! I actually used to hate my long eyelashes when I was young because they would hit my glasses or sunglasses whenever I would blink. Now I love them.

You look so cute and studious! I was in denial about my eye sight for THREE years! then the nurse called my parents lol. This is a really great deal for glasses! I haven’t gotten a new pair in a really long time!

Oh man I was in denial for over 1.5 years! 3 years is pretty intense. I love how the nurse eventually called your parents…that’s kind of hilarious 🙂

Aww, these frames look so cute :)!
I went through a “thick frame stage” when I was a junior/senior in high school. Now my sis is going through that stage, haha.
But honestly, I think thick frames are the cutest!

    • January 27, 2013 / 12:49 pm

Thanks! I think I’m still going through the thick frames stage because I still wear the glasses I bought back in college. I actually fail at wearing anything for my vision because, although it’s not that bad, I don’t wear contacts and only put on my glasses once a week on average :/ Oops…

Gorgeous glasses! I used to consider wearing glasses a nerdy burden, so I was so thrilled when glasses started becoming a fashion accessory. I am almost always too lazy to put on contact lenses, so it’s fantastic that glasses can still make a look. Firmoo actually contacted me, too, but I don’t know what my prescription is so I haven’t taken advantage of their offer. It’s nice to know that they offer the glasses without prescriptions!

Oh contact lenses kill my eyes so I wear them only when I really really need to. Otherwise I just stick with my glasses. And you should give Firmoo a try! I didn’t know my prescription either so I just stuck with regular glass and figured I could always add prescription lenses if I wanted to in the future.
