Frames From The Weekend 3/15/2013 – 3/17/2013

There’s no denying it, I’ve officially failed at blogging this entire month. I seem to have lost my blogging mojo, but I’m sure it will return in due time. I also apologize for not getting back to your comments and emails, but I can promise you that I will! My Google reader (R.I.P) has been filling up lately (unintentionally!), but I am still reading and keeping up with all you lovely ladies!

Regardless, I still want to share some photos with you from this past weekend…it was so much fun!

{I had a special occasion on Friday and decided to splurge on my most recent craving: the perfect red nail polish. I immediately knew that the Chanel beauty counter wouldn’t let me down. I ended up buying a deep, sexy red called Lotus Rouge and I am absolutely in love with the color. Chanel polishes are free of the 5 toxins: Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor. Worth.every.penny. My precious Dashka left me a wonderful “surprise” on Friday as well – she loves to eat house plants and completely knocked over a vase with roses. She’s lucky she is so adorable.}

St. Patrick's Day

{St. Patrick’s Day celebrations started early Saturday morning. My friends and I met up around 10am and headed out to a quick breakfast before heading out to Wrigleyville to continue the wildness. Breakfast was delicious and featured a side of gin. Wrigleyville, on the other hand, is not a place I frequent often…it’s definitely not my scene at all but I luckily still had a great time dancing away through the evening with my friends. We all had such a great time! I still can’t believe the college Irina came out to play and partook in the all-day debauchery. Sometimes you gotta let loose and pretend that you’re not an adult, right?}

{By some miracle, I still managed to run my planned 6-miler on Sunday even after an exhausting weekend. I missed my long run last week and decided to simply continue with my training plan. It was risky in terms of injury and what not, but the run felt amazing and was exactly what I needed. I even wore green to be a little festive! Lots of great food was consumed on Sunday as well including sauerkraut and crepes. Speaking of crepes, yesterday was the Russian holiday known as “Maslenitsa” which is basically the Orthodox equivalent of Fat Tuesday and signifies the last “glutinous” day before the start of Lent. So what am I giving up for Lent? No idea yet…}

My weekend was non-stop and in all honesty I’m looking forward to spending a few days (and maybe even next weekend) in a low-key manner. My body is begging for a break!

Did you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day?

♥ Irina

    It’s great to see you are having fun and enjoying life! Don’t worry about losing your blogging mojo, when the idea for a good post comes along, you’ll have more fun writing it :)!

    My St. Patrick’s Day was verrrrrry low-key. Went out to the gym, then was at home all day :P!

    Debauchery ;)? Sounds like you had a wild fun-filled St.Patrick’s Day. Yet another holiday that’s hardly – or even not at all – celebrated around here. We’re clearly missing out on some fun times, huh?
    A pity about the flowers but it’s easily understandable you couldn’t be mad with Dasha for long. She really is such a cutie!

    Regarding Lent: I hope you don’t plan on giving up chocolate. Life must be so hard without it.
    Blogging mojos happen to all of us I think. You’ll get back into it once it feels right so don’t stress :). Hope you’re having a great week!

    Ohhhh my Wrigleyville. I didn’t make an appearance in Wrigleyville until like 11:45 p.m. on Saturday and I’ve never seen anything like it! So much crazy, so much alcohol, so many questionable decisions by so many people haha. I didn’t really go out out while in Wrigleyville (I have a friend whose friends [my “friends-in-law”, if you will] live in Wrigleyville, so I was headed to the friends-in-law’s house but had to go down Addison to get there)–we went to a bar for all of like 30 minutes and called it good–but goodness gracious. Talk about a wild scene to witness! My stomach wasn’t feeling super hot most of Saturday, so I spent the vast majority of my day in bed, which was probably a much better idea than being out with my friend/friends-in-law alllllllllll day haha.

    Again, some great pictures to make me uber jealous!

    LOVE the nail polish – I usually don’t go for red, but that one looks beautiful! 🙂

    Isn’t Chanel nail polish amazing?! I always have such a hard time justifying spending that much on one little bottle but it’s so worth it. Love that color!

    Don’t worry about blogging at all! If you’re out there enjoying life, that’s all that matters. (:

    Nail polish looks great! This is my first visit to your blog and I’m loving it 🙂

    I love St. Patrick’s Day 😀 My mom’s family is from Buffalo NY and the holiday is BIG up there so I have always loved it! You are so right about needing to be a kid and abandon adult ways sometimes. I am so glad you did girl! It looks like you are really enjoying life!

    Gorgeous nail polish and yay for a fantastic St. Patrick’s day celebration! I don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day myself, but I enjoy the festiveness about the city with the green river, etc. I totally feel your pain about not having the blogging mojo, I’ve been struggling with that myself over the last few months since work has been so busy. Yay for a great training run, too!
