I’m going to be completely upfront with you – I’ve been on a bit of a shopping binge this past month. I’ve said this time and again but I honestly do manage my finances well. This post, however, may make you doubt me because it’s as materialistic as it gets! I cleaned out my entire closet a few months ago and have slowly been building up my wardrobe from scratch ever since. It’s an investment right? Plus, all the sales reeled me in and almost all of the following items were purchased at a discounted price.
I’ve been lusting after this gorgeous silk cami (in neon papaya) ever since I tried it on with my mom a few months ago at J.Crew. So when the top went on sale I immediately took the plunge and ordered it. It’s absolutely stunning in real life and the material practically sparkles in the sun. I actually wore it on my birthday too! #obsessed
I’ve been pretty lucky lately with scoring some great, unique tops for killer sale prices. The grey top is J.Crew, the fancy periwinkle blue one is from Express, and the sheer white one is an awesome find from T.J. Maxx. Winning!
Simple Black Dress
I have to admit that I totally copied my sister here. I’ve been on the hunt for a simple and casual tight black dress and found the exact one my sister bought 1+ year ago at H&M. Just as she did, I actually ended up purchasing two of them to wear at the same time since the thin material would be see-through otherwise. At $13 per dress this was totally doable and worth it!
White Lace Dress
I actually hated the dress when I first tried it on, mainly because the black tube top under-layer was too short and small. A few days later I tried the dress on again with the black H&M dress (see above) as the base layer and it completely changed my opinion. My mom actually convinced me to keep the dress, especially because I scored a great sale price on it during the Nordstrom anniversary sale!
Striped Pajama Dress
I have a thing for baggy pajamas and this one is no exception. It’s incredibly cozy and looks great!
Classy Black Shorts
I bought these shorts two weeks ago and have been obsessively wearing them ever since. Seriously though, I’ve only owned them for about fourteen days and have worn them 75% of this timeframe.
Skinny Black Jeans
I have some serious beef with jean shopping. In short, I absolutely hate it! But when I slipped into these skintight black beauties from Madewell I let out a gasp. They are so flattering and versatile! I can already tell they’ll be a staple in my closet.
Dusty Pink Leather Bracelet
I bought this dusty pink leather Rebecca Minkoff bracelet on a whim during the Nordstrom sale (damn you anniversary sale!) and ultimately chose to keep it. My obsession with rose gold lives on…
It took me a while to jump on the bootie bandwagon but I finally caved during the Nordstrom anniversary sale (yup, again) and ordered these black booties. The price was right and the shoe stole my heart. Fall, I’m ready for you!
Vince Camuto Black Boots
You guys these boots. These boots! My mom gifted me these for my birthday and I absolutely cannot wait to wear them. They are so stunning and they go over-the-knee, which is so sexy. I’ll make sure to show them off with a nice pair of jeans when the weather is right.
Ok so I might have taken it a bit overboard these past few weeks but I can’t help that I like nice things! Please don’t judge me for embracing sales. However, it’s time to put myself on a bit of a spending freeze until at least the end of summer or as long as I can last. The only item I still truly need is a bathing suit because I have one from three years ago and it’s in shambles. Everything else will simply be a “want” and not a “need” item.
Are you a shopping addict? What is the last item you purchased?
